I'm pretty disappointed. I didn't have much trouble with the training but I don't like the graphics in game. I can't see very well. I doubt I'll be following everyone in to AA3.

AA3

Post  -(1ATR)-ab4hl6 on Tue Jun 30, 2009 3:54 pm

I do agree the graphics have to high a contrast (reminds me of Ghost Recon) shadows are to dark. The graphics generally are of higher quality and definition. The biggest problem I have is with the jerky motion almost like a constant lag (shades of ghost recon again, which is the single most complained about problem). Map limitations (5 maps lets get real) and undefined objectives and even honor and how you get it is not explained. Hec even simple things like the Saw does not have a working bi-pod and no acog 4x. I will more than likely stay with AA2.x, but the thing is I can see no more development. I play a lot of the maps on Chevy's server and wish the maps would be completed some are just killer but the fact is I think development will dwindle to nothing.

I think he was comparing AA2 to windows XP which most still like better than Windows Vista and AA3 to Vista which most people still do not like much.

I agree the almost constant laggy feel to the game blows. AA2 has lag for me also but mainly just when bots spawn.

I gotta admit I'm hooked on it now, even though it lags horribly. I haven't started once AA2 since I downloaded AA3...

Anyway, its kinda impossible to find anyone you know, so if any of you guys are playing AA3 let me know what servers you like. For now I am usually playing Pipe,on 2AR, 420killhouse, and a couple of others that I forget that have 20 or more players (I'll add them here when I remember). I'm also probably going to try out Ranch since Wilson asked me to.

Win7

Post  -(1ATR)-ab4hl6 on Wed Jul 01, 2009 12:01 pm

As a long time now Win 7 tester I have completely gone from Vista to Win7 as my primary OS. I still have WinXP installed and Ubuntu 9.04 (I use this for all my personal stuff etc.) which I still think is the best. But I use all kinds of high end software only available on Windows, Adobe CS4 Master collection Corel Draw and Paint Shop Pro and of course gaming Smile I find Win 7 better than WinXP and far more stable.

Not sure how many people aware but for the summer you can pre-order Win7 Upgrade from Microsoft or a host of other suppliers for as low as 49.00 dollars US this is for Home premium Win7 Pro will cost you about 100.00 dollars US. Win7 Ultimate is set at 220.00 USD. These prices are about half of what it will be on Oct 22 2009.

Just for your info most pro's agree you would only need Home Premium for almost 90% of day to day needs, Pro and Ultimate are for people who do a lot of presentations and video work with features built in to make them easier (but you can always install third party software that is actually much better than the featured offered as a bonus).,

Just a little info for the masses:)

To improve your performance a bit

Post  Cooper on Fri Jul 03, 2009 2:32 pm

Tweak your ini file,

America's Army3\AA3Game\Config\AA3Engine.ini

Open AA3Engine.ini with notepad, use ctrl+F to seach...

Change bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE to bSmoothFrameRate=FALSE
Change MinDesiredFrameRate=32 to MinDesiredFrameRate=60
Change MotionBlur=True to MotionBlur=False

then in
America's Army3\AA3Game\Engine\Config\BaseEngine.ini
change MotionBlur=True to MotionBlur=False

then in these 2:
\America's Army 3\AA3Game\Config\AA3Game.ini
\America's Army 3\Engine\Config\BaseGame.ini

Change bDynamicNetSpeed=true to bDynamicNetSpeed=false

this will not get you a ban,its just approvement (for those that are left to play)

edit: because I don't play it, you won't get any help from me to do it

Re: AA3 first contact

And just got this in my mail:

Happy Independence Day!
Just in time for the July 4th weekend, we're rolling out another patch will solve some additional issues and improve certain functions, and is available through the Deploy Client and Steam.
Here's what this patch contains: Patch Version 3.0.4
* Improved console help
* Added Clan support. Add clan tag in Account Settings. You must change information while in single player mode for now.
* Admin VOIP Improvements
* New "version" console command to see the current version
* Server browser performance improvements
* Fixes joining password protected servers so it no longer selects the server underneath the mouse cursor when clicking on the "Join" button in the password entry dialog.
* Fix for settings menu improperly closing when ESC pressed and leaving the player stuck with no UI and limited control
* Mission generation optimizations
* Fixed issue with logging into game servers that sometimes used another player's soldier profile.
* New TS3 SDK integrated
* Improves how server manages authentication objects
* Fixes issue with players being added to the scoring system not having all of their scoring data written.
* Fixes issue where players not logged into MBS were being logged out if they left the server prior to authenticating
* M320 grenade attaching issue resolved.
* Dedicated server title bar now shows mission and player details
* Fixes the "Waiting for other players" UI so it now appears again.
* Removes some server logging
* Increased communications handling to support when all players use heavy load outs. This may correct many instances where players didn't spawn correctly or get the correct load out.
* Fixes the M320 getting an extra round of ammo
* Fixes the Account Settings password changing not working properly
* Fixes the IRC link not working
* Fixes the displayed mission type (assault/defense/etc.) shown in the battle planner so it displays properly after side-swapping

Just a little more!!!

Post  -(1ATR)-ab4hl6 on Mon Jul 06, 2009 7:43 pm

The 3.0.4 update patch fixed a lot of problems has less lag and all seems to be working better.
XFire will be putting out a game update for AA3, but AA3 has TS 3 built in to the game. You just activate in game chat and it works.
Still have problems with releasing a half finished game, limited maps and training unvailable ( they have not even completed the training levels). It seems like a lot of hackers.
Here is the kicker because it has TS built in you find out how old many people are by voice. There are many many many and even more players who are teenie boppers. I had one guy say he was playing since 1.0 then I heard his voice and pegged him at 12 (he verified that later) 12 year old vet Very Happy
