In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control.. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956... From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own Government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent.

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent.

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed..

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information. .

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'.

Why I Carry a Gun

I don't carry a gun to kill people.
I carry a gun to keep from being killed.

I don't carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.

I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the World.

I don't carry a gun because I hate the government.

I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating Myself for failing to be prepared.

I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and Not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

I carry a gun because, when I die and go to heaven, I want to be a Cowboy.

Police Protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves.
Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the
Crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

Canada has had gun control for nearly 65 years.
If we look at the results we have a drastically lower murder rate, and over 50% of the murders are commited with knives we have lower armed robbery rate and assault rate. Almost 50 % less violent crime. The biggest problem we have is the proximity to the US where our crimals go to purchase hand guns and assault weapons at flea markets where residence permits are not required.
A little personal viewpoint 15 years ago I was in Kalispell Montana. I had gone to a small local store to get some pop. When I was there a representative of the NRA was trying to get the lady to sign a petition, he stated that Kalispell had the exact same murder rate as Montreal in Canada that has gun controls. I do not usually get involved with aniother counties politics but this was a big tail about a completely unrealated fact. Kalispell hhad a population of abot 55.000 Montreal has a population of about 5 million. There is small city the same size as Kallispel about 60 mile south of where I live that year they had no murders and in fact in the last 15 years have had 8 murders. When I pointed this out the lady was discusded at the NRA rep for giving her facts that where useless and meaningless.
Gun controls work Canada Great Britain Japan are jsut a few of the examples of how it works.
The biggest problem in all countries is irresponcable gun owners, not reporting thefts, buying and distributing illegle weapons. I was in the military and have gone to peace keeping missions over seas. What I saw was the wholesale disregard for human life because the shooter was removed from the act.
If a dictator ship abolishes weapons it is different than gun control if they use gun control as a cover for genocide shame on all the free countries for letting it happen. The fact is the US Canada Great Britain France Germany Isreal and host of other countries have intelagence right now that shows which countries are at risk of repaeating the cycle you talk about, but do nothing about it.
It is important as you defend your rights that you quote relevent facts, true facts and real statistics. Since the vast majority of Democratic Countries in the world have some for of gun control. The few exeptions you pointed out and basic time frame they happened over it would seem a rare occurance. It must also be mentioned that Germany and Japan exersized there controls and exterminations under the shadow of war. And even in the US once war has been declared,the President has absolute power and if he said no one could have weapons they could not he is commnader and chief of the US military and as such he can order people to war he could oreder all americans to give up there weapons for the war effort. He could be voted out off power (but the American War Acts says he can stay in power for up to 8 years if there is a war on). Hitler killed 6 million people in 4 years.
Just food for thought.

The Swiss law is a form of gun control. Yes every Swiss citizen gets a gun and is trained in use of Fire Arms. But all the facts firstly in Switzerland only Swiss citizens get the guns 30% of the population are not Swiss citizens and they must take the Fire Arms course before receiving the gun that is the law, they also have to pass a psychological exam and if at any time the person is deemed unfit by the Police the local government. the canton government or federal government as well as the judicial system (hmmm this rings of the same problems as complete gun your examples) the weapon will be removed and the right to own weapons removed. All non Swiss residents must meet the same requirements for gun permit. It is against the law in Switzerland to carry a concealed weapon.
I also do not know of any federal law that requires gun training a psychological test or residency requirement, these are all gun controls.
Also you miss one of the biggest issues, Switzerland is one of the most regressive police states in Europe demanded by residents to deter crime, the population is very affluent and demand things like profiling arrest on suspicion and guilty till proven innocent.
